Goa Forest Development Corporation Limited (GFDC), was constituted from the erstwhile Cashew Division of the Forest Department, Govt. Of Goa and incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 on 11th April 1997. GFDC has nearly twenty five of experience in raising cashew seedlings in their own nurseries and Cashew and Rubber plantations in lease areas. Also auctioning of Cashew estates for collection of nuts and apples every year.
The company now maintains a very diverse portfolio and decided to operate in several areas like eco-tourism and ex-situ conservation of rare and endangered flora. One of the important garden in the State, the Botanical garden and Eco-recreation centre , Salaulim – Sanguem at downstream of Salaulim dam is the proud creation of GFDC.
